Personal Assistants work with individuals who require 1-to-1 support in their daily lives. The roles are very varied and flexible – building a relationship with someone who is essentially your employer.

It takes a very particular sort of person to be a 1-to-1 Personal Assistant and help someone maintain their independence. You’ll need to be a people person who enjoys helping others. You’ll need to be confident and approachable.
It’s an exciting and unique role – one where your boss is a person you’re helping live life to the full in their own home. It’s exciting, challenging work which changes every day – but most of all, it’s really rewarding.
We’ll guide you through every step – from gaining new skills and confidence to preparing for an interview with a service user who has similar interests to yours.
Practical workshops will include wheelchair use, safeguarding, health and safety and first aid.
You’ll meet current service users and their assistants, and get advice and support with job applications and updating your CV.

Alongside Level 2 qualifications, you can choose from a range of other personal development courses if you need them. From money management to healthy eating – just choose the ones which are relevant to you.
