POLICIES & PROCEDURES:
SUSTAINABILITY

Crosby Training is committed to the UK Strategy for Sustainable Development (‘Securing the Future’) that ‘will enable all people throughout the world to satisfy their basic needs and enjoy a better quality of life without compromising the quality of life for future generations’.

We know that climate change is the greatest environmental challenge facing the world with rising global temperatures, which bring changes in weather patterns, rising sea levels and increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather conditions.

By recycling and reusing more waste, and by reducing carbon emissions from our offices and from road vehicles, we aim to reduce our own carbon footprint. We have embedded  sustainable development at both the decision-making and the operational levels within the company.

We have already taken steps to reduce our company’s output of carbon emissions but from January 2009, we have standardised our efforts. We have confirmed our base line and set targets to reduce this in line with the DWP SOGE targets. These targets will be monitored for progress each quarter.

We have trained our staff and involve customers and stakeholders in our mission to recycle and reuse waste and to reduce our impact on the environment.

HOW WE TARGET PRIORITY AREAS:

We have established baselines for use as a benchmark for current and future contracts, and we set targets each year to:
Reduce carbon emissions from our offices and learning venues
Improve energy efficiency
Reduce carbon emissions from road vehicles
Reduce waste arising from our day-to-day operations
Recycle more of our waste
Reduce water consumption
